The Trust Authority is composed of five volunteers which live in any school district in the City of Cleveland.  They are responsible for overseeing a 1% sales tax, collected in Cleveland, intended for Health care in our community.

Since the City of Cleveland is the beneficiary of the Trust all trustees are appointed by the Mayor of Cleveland and confirmed by the City Council.  Board members are appointed to 5 year terms and may be re-appointed to consecutive terms.

Trustees shall not have any undisclosed conflicts of interest with the Hospital.  Such conflict situations may be present if an individual is a major supplier of products or services to the Hospital.  Exceptions may be made by the Board in certain circumstances as provided by law and where full disclosure of such conflict has been made to the Board.
